...bamboo 101:)...

For over a year I've been wanting to propagate 'Lucky Bamboos'. I have a fascination with them (aheemmmm) :P, so much that one bedside table probably looks more like a jungle then a bedside table. After researching it numerous times, this afternoon I finally decided to go ahead and do it...Cause I knew if I thought about it some more I'd change my mind again because I didn't want to kill the ones I already had. A lot of people have asked me already how they survive because theirs always seem to die within a year... I srsly haven't had a problem other then the fact that I took fertilizing them a lil to srsly one time and before I noticed it, 2 of them had started turning yellow and brown:(... But I have about 5-6 still, n I adore them:)...

Here are my 'Lucky Bamboo" survival tips:

- they HATE direct sun, keep them away from windows
- do not give them water straight from the tap, the chemicals in there will kill them. I always have a jug filled and standing around so I can water them whenever I need to.
-a drop of liquid fertilizer is ENOUGH

*If you follow this they are practically fool proof:)* That's what I always tell people if they ask me.:) Unt ehs hum mich schu LOTS ppl frohk uhm pointers:)....

Here are the little guys I started. I'm experimenting between starting them from nodes (cup #2), or from stems (cup #1). Ill keep you posted on how they are doing and which one works better:). I also had one about 4 ft long so I cut it in half, hoping that it will continue to grow:). WISH ME LUCK:)

Here are my some of other babies:) I love working with plants...I stop short at singing to them and telling them stories:)...

And this is my 'my-for-now' rubber tree...Standing in my 'happy place':)... It belongs to my sister but I'm taking care of it for a while:)...It's thriving:D I just know it...It's gotten about 10 new leaves in the last month:)...

PS: It's my favorite part of my room, thus the 'happy place' name:)
Where/what's your happy place? :)

Ommmm, I've only had it awhile, but I'm watering it from underneath, once a week with plenty of water, and its not in direct sunlight...It seems to be thriving in its little corner!
